Hostedware applications (Hosted Survey and Hosted Test) are
completely secure. The web site and databases are password protected and
hidden safely behind appropriate firewalls. Encryption during data
transfer and communication between your computer and our servers is
enforced using Secure Socket Layers (SSL).

Secured Sockets Layer (SSL or "https") is a protocol that transmits your
communications over the Internet in an encrypted form. SSL ensures that
the information is sent, unchanged, only to the server you intended to
send it to. Online shopping sites frequently use SSL technology to
safeguard your credit card information, as we do when you are purchasing
response packages or paying for software licenses and other services
online at Hostedware.

Hostedware uses this same level of security when you are designing,
authoring, building your questionnaires, administering your projects,
and reviewing your results, scores and other online data. In addition,
SSL can be configured to be active when your respondents are completing
their surveys, taking their tests and assessments, or completing their
online forms.
 
Hostedware's SSL encryption and security mechanisms are HIPAA compliant.

Purchasing and E-commerce

When you purchase response packages, software licenses and other
services from Hostedware, you have the option to pay by check, major
credit card, or provide us with an approved purchase order for timely
invoicing.

If you choose to pay by credit card, you never have to worry about
safety and confidentiality when you are ordering from Hostedware. We use
the latest encryption technology to keep your personal information safe.
All of your ordering information is encrypted during transmission using
Secure Socket Layers (SSL or 'https') for maximum security. Your credit
card and billing information cannot be read as it travels to our
ordering system.

Our Guarantee: In general, under federal law, you cannot be liable for
more than $50 of fraudulent charges. In the unlikely event that you are
subject to fraudulent charges, Hostedware will cover you even for the
$50.

you. Contact us and we will set up an order form for you, then call for your credit card information. Or, you can mail the form back to us with your check and we'll add the responses to your account as soon as it is received.

No Java

Hostedware software applications require no Java, no downloads, no
installations, no applets. We have been extra careful to design our
applications to run 100% over the web, without any special
configurations or files on your (or your end-user's) computer.

Hostedware applications will never cause your computer to crash, never
spread a virus, and you'll never have to worry about corrupting your
computer's setup, configuration or network files.

Located in a building designed to meet rigorous federal and state
building code standards, designed to withstand earthquakes according to
zone four (4) specifications, and with extensive fire detection and
suppression capabilities.

Environmental controls that address heating and cooling, humidity
controls and monitored status that notifies our operations staff when
conditions fall outside of planned ranges.

Conditioned, clean power with redundancy and disaster recovery
configuration

Full-time monitoring and management of all aspects of the data center,
operated from our 24x7 Network Operations Center. The NOC has access to
all security operations data and monitors the data center for external
and internal security. The data center is staffed 24x7 by Pinkerton
security guards.

Employs a staff of highly trained IP security engineers with extensive
Microsoft, Unix and Linux operating system expertise.

Uses industry leading firewalls, such as Cisco PIX, Checkpoint and
NetScreen, to protect the data center network. Uses state-of-the-art security software that monitors conditions behind the network firewalls. In the event of any suspicious activity that gets through the firewall, the software identifies the break-in and alerts the NOC.
